7 Takeaways From Week 4 In The NFL

DeMarco Murray

Bridgewater shines; MRI coming

Teddy Bridgewater was successful in his first career NFL start, completing 12-of-20 passes for 150 yards, nothing too flashy but nothing horrible to dwell on. Most importantly, he led the Vikings to an upset of the Falcons, a team I expect will win big-time games and lose gimmes throughout the season.

Bridgewater also rushed six times for 27 yards and a touchdown, but sprained his ankle near the end the contest. Bridgewater’s X-rays after the game came back negative, but he will undergo an MRI on Monday.

It’ll be a major setback for the upstart Vikings should Bridgewater be sidelined, but thus far all signs point to it being a sprain. The much-maligned Christian Ponder is his backup.
