26. Boston Red Sox (68-88) (LW 24) – Cuban import Rusney Castillo is getting his first taste of the majors as the season winds down. He hit safely in each of his first four games and picked up his first stolen base on Sunday.
27. Minnesota Twins (66-89) (LW 27) – After signing a four-year, $22 million contract before the season the Twins aren’t taking any chances. They have shut down All-Star closer Glen Perkins for the season with a strain and nerve irritation in his left forearm. He picked up 34 games this year.
28. Colorado Rockies (65-91) (LW 29) – The Rockies are enjoying one of their best stretches of the season. They have won six straight games and have scored 61 runs in the process.
29. Texas Rangers (62-93) (LW 30) – The Rangers are finally out of MLB’s doghouse with a 7-1 stretch. They’ll even play meaningful games during the last week of the year. Texas could play the spoiler with a season-ending, four-game series against the A’s.
30. Arizona Diamondbacks (62-94) (LW 28) – A six-game losing streak was enough to give the Diamondbacks the worst record in baseball with six games left. It will be a fight down the stretch with the Rangers to determine who will end up with the first pick in next year’s draft.
