MLB Power Rankings Week 26

Jered Weaver

11. Seattle Mariners (83-72) (LW 12) –The Mariners have the best shot of any team outside  of the playoff picture to get in. But they will need their usually-great pitching to improve in the last week. In the last seven days, Seattle’s pitchers owned a 4.76 ERA.

12. Cleveland Indians (81-74) (LW 15) – Will the Indians use another September push to get back to October? They currently sit 3.5 games outside of the second Wild Card spot, but have won five of six. Last year, Cleveland won 21 games in the final month, which included a 10-game winning streak, to make the playoffs.

13. New York Yankees (80-75) (LW 14) – Though the Yankees are not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, realistically they are. That means Thursday’s home finale against Baltimore will mark the end for Derek Jeter at Yankee Stadium.

14. Milwaukee Brewers (80-76) (LW 11) – The Brewers appeared destined for the playoffs not long ago, but now they are all but eliminated. A 4.5-game deficit for a Wild Card spot with just six games remaining may be too much to overcome.

15. Toronto Blue Jays (78-77) (LW 13) –The Blue Jays are limping to the finish line. They have lost seven of eight, including three of four in New York. Toronto is now just 14-42 at the new Yankee Stadium.
