This is the most important backup quarterback job in the league, because how long can you believe that Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the Texans’ starter?
Savage was the quarterback hand-selected by first-year coach Bill O’Brien, while Keenum is the incumbent, the only quarterback from the 2013 squad still on the roster. The winner of the job becomes Fitzpatrick’s backup, and will inevitably be plugged in if and when he falters.
