Bosh botches a Texas-sized opportunity

After James announced he was returning to Cleveland, Bosh informed the Heat he was returning to the team on a max deal, squandering an opportunity to join the Houston Rockets and contend on a Western Conference power.

Adding Bosh and re-signing Chandler Parsons would’ve given the Rockets an All-Star version of what Dwight Howard had as a member of the Orlando Magic. Howard could be the center of the offense, with 3-point shooters and slashers in James Harden, Bosh and Parsons around him.

Instead, Bosh took the money and is returning to what has to be a rebuilding team in Miami. Sure, they’ll re-sign Dwyane Wade, and they already have veterans in Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger, but this is a middle-of-pact Eastern Conference club with little realistic title hopes.
