Los Angeles Angels (Wilson) at Houston Astros (Cosart)
While C.J. Wilson can be an adventure on the mound, one thing he did do last year was carve up the Astros: in four starts and 24.2 innings pitched last year, Wilson had just six earned runs against with 34 strikeouts. He’s one of my favorite starts today. Cosart looked pretty good in his first start of the year so I might avoid the more expensive Angels hitters today. I would start Wilson almost blindly in every type of league today, though.
Albert Pujols (1B) – $6653
Howie Kendrick (2B) – $5061
CJ Wilson (SP) – $20,258
By being so high on C.J. Wilson, I am necessarily not that high on Astros hitters. The only guy I might take a shot in the dark on is Chris Carter; he’s exceedingly cheap and is one of the few Astros hitters that can have a decent day without relying on his teammates. Other than that though, I’m staying away.
Chris Carter (OF) – $3966
