Ottawa Senators at St. Louis Blues
Craig Anderson was able to steal a point for the Senators last night as he stopped 46 of 48 shots he faced against Pittsburgh to get the team at least an overtime loss. This is back to back nights on the road for a team that has been getting absolutely slaughtered in the possession game for a couple weeks now and they’re going into the barn of possibly the best home team in the NHL (they have the second-best goal differential at home next to Anaheim). In short, this is no bueno for Sens fans who have seen their team win just three games in their last nine outings.
St. Louis stumbled a little bit in the middle of January but they have now won four of their last five games and have allowed just eight total goals against in those games. The power play is 4-for-15 in those contests while the penalty kill has given up just one goal in return for a net special teams’ effect of plus-3 in those five games. Jaroslav Halak has been very solid for the Blues of late as well.
I won’t spend a lot of time telling you why you should stack the Blues but this game lines up to be a Senators slaughter. I will have the Blues’ skaters all over my lineups and Halak in many of them as well.
