It’s the final games of the season and pitcher streaming could be your only chance to salvage some wins. Let’s take a look at the most favorable matchups of the week that you could plug into your fantasy baseball lineup. Remember, matchups are subject to change, especially late in the week, so double check before starting.

Monday, September 16:

Andrew Cashner at PIT: Cashner has been lights out his last three starts, putting up a 1.25 ERA and 21 K/5 BB. He’s faced the Bucs once this season on August 19, pitching seven one-run innings and figures to be a good start once again against a lineup that ranks 21st in offense this month.

Sonny Gray vs. LAA: Gray has put up a 1.83 ERA and 21 K/5 BB over his last three starts and figures to be a good bet against the inconsistent Angels.

Tuesday, September 17:

Ryan Dempster vs. BAL: Dempster has faced the Orioles three times this year, putting up a 2.50 ERA and 15 K over 18 IP.

Tanner Roark vs. ATL: Roark has looked good as he’s gone 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA over his first two starts. He’s only faced the Braves out of relief but has hurled six scoreless innings against them this year, giving up just two hits and a walk while striking out six. The Braves offense ranks just 23rd in runs this month.

Yusmeiro Petit at NYM: Petit has been excellent, putting up a 2.53 ERA and 37 K/6 BB over 32 IP this season. He’ll face a Mets offense that ranks dead last in the league in runs this month.

Wednesday, September 18:

Danny Salazar at KC: Salazar has put up a 0.66 ERA and 22 K/4 BB over his last 13.2 IP and will face a Royals offense that ranks 10th in the American League in runs this month.

Tyler Thornburg vs. CHC: Over his last 35.1 IP, Thornburg owns a 1.78 ERA and 25 K. The last time he faced the Cubs, he threw six scoreless innings while striking out six.

Thursday, September 19:

Ian Kennedy at PIT: Kennedy owns a 2.65 ERA and 19 K/6 BB over his last three starts and hurled seven scoreless innings against the Pirates his last outing against them, striking out eight. The Bucs rank 10th in the NL in runs this month.

Friday, September 20:

Hector Santiago at DET: The Tigers offense is dangerous but Santiago has done well against them. In his last outing against the Tigers on August 13, Santiago allowed just one earned run over five innings. His previous start against Detroit on August 2 went in similar fashion as Santiago held them to two runs over seven while striking out seven batters. The Tigers have also slowed down, ranking 11th in the AL in offense this month.

Saturday, September 21:

Sonny Gray vs. MIN: Gray makes his second appearance this week and for good reason. Did I mention his 1.83 ERA and 21 K over his last three starts? He also held the Twins to just two runs over five innings while striking out seven his last time out against Minnesota.

Carlos Torres at PHI: Torres last faced the Phils on August 29 and held them to just one run over 6.2 IP while striking out six. Philly ranks 14th in the NL in offense this month.

Sunday, September 22:

Andrew Cashner vs. LAD: Cashner makes his second appearance of the week after putting up a 1.25 ERA and 21 K over his last three starts. The Dodgers are a formidable opponent but Cashner seems to have found the answer. He held the Dodgers to just one run while striking out seven over seven innings in his last outing against them on August 31. In his previous start against the Dodgers on June 23, Cashner held LA to just one run over eight innings.

Tanner Roark vs. MIA: Another second appearance this week, Roark threw six scoreless innings against the Marlins in his first career start and pitched three additional scoreless innings out of the bullpen against Miami.

Jeff Locke vs. CIN: Locke has made three starts against the Reds this year and has surrendered just two runs over 18 innings.
