Jonathan Pettibone vs. ATL: In his first start against the Braves, Pettibone allowed just one run on five hits, one walk, and six strikeouts.

Jarred Cosart at MIN: Cosart has been stellar in three starts since being called up, going 1-0 with a 0.86 ERA. The Twins rank 20th in offense.

Chris Capuano at CHC: Capuano is 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA and 14 K/1 BB over his last three starts (17.1 IP). He’s done well against the Cubs his entire career, going 9-3 with a 3.35 ERA over 86 IP.

Erasmo Ramirez at BAL: Ramirez has been struggling but has won two of his last three games anyway. He’s faced Baltimore before, allowing just two runs, four hits, and no walks while striking out six over eight innings.

Sunday, August 4:

Mike Pelfrey vs. HOU: Pelfrey has been better of late, putting up a 3.06 ERA and 15 K/4 BB over his last three starts (17.2 IP). He’s always done well against the Astros, owning a 3.31 ERA and 21 K/7 BB over 32.2 IP.

John Lannan vs. ATL: Lannan has a 2.25 ERA over his last three starts and has seen a lot of the Braves. Over 16 career starts, Lannan is 9-5 with a 3.20 ERA over 98.1 IP.

Juan Nicasio at PIT: Nicasio is 2-0 with a 0.47 ERA and 15 K/4 BB over his last three starts and allowed just one run over 6.2 IP against the Pirates in his last start against them.
