Daily Fantasy Hockey Update and Value Picks – December 14

Patrick Kane

Pittsburgh Penguins at Detroit Red Wings

Pittsburgh will be playing their second game in two nights, coming off a 3-2 win at home to New Jersey last night. Detroit will be looking to stop the bleeding, as they’ve lost three in a row now, and all to the Florida teams.

There’s no doubt that the Penguins are the superior team, but this really isn’t a great spot for them. Back to back nights is hard enough, but they are being ripped through with injuries and suspensions, meaning six regulars will be out of the lineup tonight.

It’s always a tough situation to be against the Penguins; they can score in bunch and ruin your night pretty quickly. That said, if there is a good spot to not pick Pittsburgh, it’s on the road on a back-to-back with an injured lineup.

This shouldn’t be seen as a glowing recommendation of the Red Wings. This is a team that’s struggling to find consistency right now and Pittsburgh is not an easy task. If the Wings were ever going to take the Penguins head on this year, though, a situation like tonight is primed for it.
