Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks – March 7

Tampa Bay Lightning left wing Cory Conacher

In the name of Time I won’t bore you with my normal ramblings about daily fantasy gods and “existential nightmares” or whatever else enters my brain when thinking about daily fantasy gaming.

I’ll enter the following lineup into some head-to-heads and 50/50’s at FanDuel:

LW: Jiri Tlusty $7,000—He has five goals in four games. He’s the definition of hot.

LW: Cory Conacher $5,100—After a three game drought he got back on the board with two assists against New Jersey on the 5th. With 20 points in 23 games his $5,100 price tag is very appealing.

RW: Jakub Voracek $7,500—Voracek has two goals and nine shots on net over his past two games.

RW: Marian Gaborik $6,500—I like Gaborik simply for his matchup. He gets the Islanders tonight and should see some production. He has three points in his past three games.

C: Sidney Crosby $9,900

C: Cody Hodgson $5,100—Hodgson had two goals on seven shots against Carolina on Tuesday. Like Conacher, his price at $5,100 makes him a good play.

D: Jake Muzzin $3,400—Muzzin sees power play time and had two goals and one assist against St. Louis on the 5th. As always, I like Dougie Hamilton as he scored a power play goal the other night. Hamilton didn’t look sharp in his own end and he ended the night with a minus-2 rating which really put a damper on his power play goal. But at $4,400 he’s an exciting pick with tons of upside. If you choose to go with Hamilton over Muzzin you would have sub out a forward. I would probably replace Gaborik with Chris Stewart.

D: John Carlson $4,500—He plays on Washington’s first power play unit with Alexander Ovechkin. That alone makes Carlson a strong play.

G: Anton Khudobin $5,800—I keep saying it: I’m a sucker for cheap goaltending. It paid off last night and I think it will pay off tonight. Boston is playing Toronto on the second day of a back-to-back and Khudobin hasn’t looked bad this year. Double check his status before game time.

Because I can’t stop tinkering and my love for cheap goaltending knows no bounds I’ll enter a secondary lineup into FanDuel’s $2 tournament:
