Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks – March 18

Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Martin St. Louis

After taking a day off yesterday since there were only a few games to work with I’m back again trying to figure out the daily fantasy puzzle. Today I’ll offer two lineups and try my hand in some FanDuel multi-entry tournaments. The first lineup will offer a balanced attack without Steven Stamkos or Patrick Kane. The second lineup will utilize both players so we’ll have to get creative at other positions.

Check out Matthew Dimmick’s Fantasy Hockey Sleepers and Michael Clifford’s Week 9 Fantasy Hockey Preview for more help with your daily fantasy picks and your roto leagues.

Lineup One:

LW: Curtis Glencross $6,300—Glencross has four goals and is a plus-5 over his last two games. After a terrible game on Feb. 28 against Colorado where he ended the game with a minus-3 rating he has quietly put together a nice string of games culminating with his hat trick against Nashville on March 15. Glencross gets Dallas tonight and they have allowed 2.96 goals against per game.

LW: Brandon Saad $5,600—Saad has at least one point in five out of his past six games. He has eight points over that six game span. I consider him a bargain at $5,600.

RW: Martin St. Louis $7,600—He has 37 points in 28 games and four over his past three games. He’s fourth in the NHL in scoring yet still comes in at $7,600 on FanDuel—not elite player money.

RW: Jakub Voracek $7,400—Voracek has a nice matchup against Tampa Bay tonight. Tampa Bay has allowed the eighth most goals against per game on average this season. After only one goal in his past three games I expect a nice bounce back tonight. Pierre Parenteau would also fit in this space and he has a goal in two straight games.

C: Matt Duchene $6,700—Duchene has 30 points in 26 games yet still comes in at the nice price of $6,700. He has four points over his past two games.

C: Derek Stepan $5,800—Stepan has three points in his past four games. He always gets a chance on the power play so I’ll take a chance on him tonight.

D: Jacob Muzzin $4,900—I’ve been playing Muzzin every chance I get and I’ll continue that tonight. He’ll be on the power play with either Drew Doughty or Voynov and is a good play at $4,900.

D: Cam Fowler $3,700—Fowler is cheap and had an assist on March 16. He’s on my radar screen because I still own him in one league I’m in this season. This one is kind of a hail mary. I’ll take what I can get from him.

G: Jon Quick $6,900—Quick is the probable starter. Make sure you check on his status before the games start. UPDATE: As of 6PM Quick is still not the confirmed starter.
