Winnipeg Jets at Calgary Flames

The Jets are coming off a coach firing-led win on Monday at home against Phoenix, a game where they dominated the Coyotes from start to finish en route to a 5-1 win. The storybook is over though and it’s really time to get down to business, starting with a team in Calgary that the Jets lost to already this year (and that game was in Winnipeg). One bright spot is that their power play has scored four goals in their last three games, a 22.2-percent efficiency.

Calgary is coming off a 4-2 loss in Nashville on Tuesday, a game where they looked dispirited at best. Sure they managed two goals, but at times it barely looked like an NHL team on the ice. This team has just three wins in their last 15 games, two wins in their last 10 games and one in their last five. They have also lost six straight games on home ice, being outscored 17-2 in those six games.

This is a game that could be a sneaky high-scoring game; neither team is very strong defensively and neither team is very strong in net. When you combine those two things, there tends to be a lot of goals (evidence is the eight combined goals in their first meeting this season). If you want to separate yourself in a GPP, it might not be a bad idea to take a couple depth players from this game. I will not be taking any goalie from this game under any circumstance.
