Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – February 8

Ottawa Senators at Boston Bruins

The Sens’ last two games are a perfect microcosm of this team; they won in St. Louis on Tuesday becoming the first Eastern team to do so this year. Two nights ago, they struggled to get a win against Buffalo. This is a team with the talent through the lineup to beat any team on any given day and they also are known for just plain sucking. If they hope to win in Boston, they’ll need to stay out of the penalty box – the Sens have given up 33 power play chances in their last seven games. That won’t do well against this Boston power play.

The Bruins will be playing game 2 without Zdeno Chara as he was given permission to leave the team to be Slovakia’s flag bearer in Sochi. They fared pretty well in St. Louis regardless.

In Chara’s absence, it was call-up David Warsofsky that took his spot on the top power play unit but it was Matt Barkowski that played with Dougie Hamilton for most of the game at even strength and it was actually Torey Krug and whoever he was paired with that got the top line. This means that Hamilton/Bartkowski should avoid the Kyle Turris line in this game. The power play is over 25-percent for the last two weeks and could eat the Sens PK alive if they parade to the penalty box.

There has been three games between these teams this year with the Sens winning two close games in Ottawa and the Bruins blowing out the Sens in Boston. I think the Bruins bring their best game and the Sens fall behind. It’s a good game to stack the Bruins but picking the right line isn’t easy.
