Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – April 11

Jamie Benn

Colorado Avalanche at San Jose Sharks

With their regulation win last night in Vancouver, the Avalanche put themselves in a tie for first in the division with St. Louis (and Colorado holds the tie-breaker) and just one point behind the Ducks for first overall in the Conference. One thing the team has done is limit the power play opportunities of their opponents, giving up just five power plays in their last three games. There’s good reason to think a number like that might sustain itself for this one, as the Avs have given up just 12 power play chances against in their last five back-to-back games. There doesn’t seem to be much concern about a team slowdown.

Despite being an elite team and a Cup contender coming out of the West, the Sharks are just 4-5-2 in their last 11 games and two of those four wins were against the Edmonton Oilers. Even though this streak might be luck-driven, it’s been ugly nonetheless. The team has also scored just 14 goals in their last six games and that type of mark is not good for DFS, stacking lineups or otherwise.

The Sharks should dominate but for some reason, the Avalanche usually pull out a win in these types of games. As such, I will avoid the goalies and focus on skaters for 50/50s and heads-up games.
