Daily Fantasy Hockey: DFS DraftKings Values – February 9

Patrick Sharp

The only team that played yesterday that is also playing tonight is the Chicago Blackhawks. Of course, that creates a bit of a conundrum as they are by far the team with the best matchup. While Corey Crawford would be playing two games in two days if he gets the nod in net, perhaps the early start time yesterday would help him tonight. If not, there’s no problem with going to Antti Raanta instead.

Play the $9000 guaranteed, $2 entry Sniper contest on DraftKings tonight! Details below.

-$9,000 prize pool.

As always, check Left Wing Lock for goalie confirmations.

In net, I would have a hard time going for anyone other than a Chicago goalie, or Cory Schneider. The problem is that Schneider and Crawford (or Raanta) may not see a lot of shots. There is worry about goalies reaching value tonight because of price and an expected low workload. With that said, I don’t have much confidence in securing a win elsewhere, so it’s just a bad night in net all around.

Cash Game

Center Wing Defence Goalie
Richards (CHI) – $5100 Zucker (MIN) – $3500 Keith (CHI) – $4900 Schneider (NJD) – $9100
Kopitar (LAK) – $5000 Kane (CHI) – $8800 Zidlicky (NJD) – $3600 Crawford (CHI) – $8600
Couture (SJS) – $7600 Marleau (SJS) – $5800 Suter (MIN) – $4400
Toews (CHI) – $5000 Gaborik (LAK) – $4900 Burns (SJS) – $5700
Koivu (MIN) – $4900 Cammalleri (NJD) – $5000
Zajac (NJD) – $3100 Atkinson (CBJ) – $5400
Hossa (CHI) – $4500
  • The nature of the slate tonight means using two or three Chicago skaters is advisable. There are only so many players to choose from, so owners shouldn’t get hung up on ownership rates whatsoever.
  • Calgary has played San Jose pretty tough all year. With that said, I think Couture/Marleau/Nieto can get away from the Brodie/Giordano pairing, and that’s not a bad spot.
  • Speaking of Chicago, I would have one of Patrick Kane or Patrick Sharp on most rosters. There aren’t a lot of expensive players tonight, and they have an excellent matchup.
  • With the savings that can be had most anywhere, as with most short slates, spending a bit more on defencemen isn’t a bad idea.

GPP/Tournament

Center Wing Defence Goalie
Richards (CHI) – $5100 Kane (CHI) – $8800 Keith (CHI) – $4900 Dubnyk (MIN) – $9300
Koivu (MIN) – $4900 Sharp (CHI) – $8500 Suter (MIN) – $4400 Hiller (CGY) – $7500
Couture (SJS) – $7600 Zucker (MIN) – $3500 Burns (SJS) – $5700
Kopitar (LAK) – $5000 Pominville (MIN) – $6100 Muzzin (LAK) – $5000
Marleau (SJS) – $5800
Nieto (SJS) – $2800
Gaborik (LAK) – $4900
Brown (LAK) – $4000
  • The obvious stack is Chicago. I’m going with the Richards line because other cheap stacks make it easier to stomach their price.
  • A big reason I like Minnesota’s Koivu line tonight is because of price. The trio can be stacked for under 30-percent of the total cap, and that makes more expensive stacks easier to stomach.
  • I can’t argue with wanting to fade San Jose tonight, but for those that do, I’d recommend going Hiller in net for a goalie.

Bargain Bin

Marcus Kruger (CHI-C, $2500) – Almost every Chicago skater is a good play tonight.

Matthew Nieto (SJS-W, $2800) – Playing with Couture/Marleau and gets second unit power play time.

Matt Dumba (MIN-D, $2500) – For those looking for salary relief among d-men, Dumba plays the second power play unit for Minnesota.

Good luck!
