Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 5/3/17

What a night in Boston, there were a ton of stories we can look at.  The game started with a standing ovation for Adam Jones.  However after that Sale took the show over.  He fanned the first five batters on his way to another game with double digit strike outs.  In the first inning Sale threw behind Machado, as he was protecting Mookie from being beamed.  Both benches got warned and Sale then struck out the side.  Sale – usually a quiet guy – went into the dugout and began to yell and say “let’s go” to Boston.  Boston might be able to look back at that moment as the turning point of its season, as the offense looked solid.  Five runs isn’t a ton but Hanley hit 2 more home runs, Mookie had a 2-run double, and Moreland added to his league lead in doubles.  The Red Sox threatened to get more in the 8th until a wacky triple play occurred.  Regardless, the Red Sox looked like the team from last year, smiling, hitting the ball, and having fun.

Every team is in action on this Wednesday, let’s dive in and win some cash.

Low-Scoring Play

Milwaukee Brewers @ St. Louis Cardinals – Adam Wainwright takes the mound for the Cards.  He is having a decent season, but has had success against the Brewers in his career.  Milwaukee has only hit .215 off of him as a team with 3 home runs in 157 plate appearances.  He also has K’ed 44 of them and walked only 7.  Wainwright will be facing Chase Anderson who is 2-0 on the season. Anderson has held the Cardinals to a batting average of .255 only allowing 1 home run.  This should be a low-scoring game where the Cardinals will win with home field advantage.

Targets: Wainwright, Fowler

High-Scoring Plays

Baltimore Orioles @ Boston Red Sox – Here is the rivalry. Machado is angry as Sale sent a laser behind him last night.  Baltimore took out Pedroia last week, and hit Mookie, so Machado being thrown at is warranted.  It’s the way baseball has always been, and you’re being paid millions to play a game, get over it.  This game should be a slugfest.  Boston is looking stronger and we know Baltimore is a strong ball club.  If a pitcher hits a batter they will be tossed right away.  This will make the teams go to their bullpens.  Pomeranz has let up the home run early in games this year and Machado will be swinging for the moon.  I like the Red Sox to take this game though as the crowd will be electrified.

Targets: Betts, Moreland, Ramirez

San Francisco Giants @ L.A. Dodgers – Samardzija is 0-4 on the season and is not looking good.  It isn’t going to get any easier facing the Dodgers lineup.  Stack Dodger batters in this game as I like them to win big.  I would avoid some of the top pitchers just to take the top players in the Dodgers lineup.  Posey looks to be the only threat right now in the Giants lineup and he can’t get it done alone. Dodgers big here.

Targets: Seager, Turner, Gonzalez

Undervalued Plays

Adam Wainright – STL – SP – He was targeted above but he is a pitcher I would look into taking to help stack the Dodgers batters. A starting pitcher that should do well against the Brewers will only cost you $7400.

Carlos Beltran – HOU – OF – Beltran has been quiet this year but Houston is a good team.  If Beltran isn’t driving in the runs, he will be on base scoring them.  For his price, Beltran is a great play tonight.
