Boxing – Fight Night Guide for Dec. 14

Devon Alexander throws a punch against Marcos Maidana

Leo Santa Cruz vs. Cesar Seda, 12 rounds, WBC junior featherweight title

Rare, very intriguing matchup between two very talented young men. Santa Cruz (25-0-1, 15 KO) is Mexico’s newest sensation, with a dazzling display of power and skill that is rarely seen. Seda (25-1, 17 KOs) is one of Puerto Rico’s hopefuls in the island’s quest for a new boxing idol, and he has much to prove after failing in his only title shot so far (against Omar Narvaez). They both know how much is on the line for them, and the added excitement of  a renewed Puerto Rico vs. Mexico rivalry is more than enough reason to expect a very entertaining and perhaps even dramatic fight between two terrific fighters on a mission to impress.

What to look for in this fight: After a few solid rounds by Seda, Santa Cruz should take over and get an authoritative decision with a late-round rally.
