Standing in my driveway last night during a historic Boston storm I had the thought, “will Zack Kassian play with the Sedins tomorrow?” This is a question that can only really be answered during the game. The last time Vancouver played, Kassian saw power play minutes but Burrows took his spot on the Sedin line. Also, what happened to the gritty Kassian? Has he been corrupted by the Sedins? He has zero penalty minutes in his past five games. I love Kassian as the grit to the Sedin’s finesse. No one likes Kassian as the finesse on a third or fourth line. I can’t find anything to confirm it was more than just a one time thing, so I’ll roll with him at least one more time.
The fact I had that thought standing in the middle of blizzard probably makes me a #degenerate, according to C.D. Carter.
Even now, the snow is still falling in Boston and I have six tabs open about Ilya Kovalchuk and Claude Giroux. Not that anyone needs to know any more about Kovalchuck or Giroux. I mean, they are Kovalchuck and Giroux. Kovalchuck’s price is justifiably low on FanDuel because of his slow start. But he had a goal, an assist and five shots on goal against Tampa Bay on Feb. 7. He could be heating up. He’s a steal on FanDuel at $6,800. Giroux comes in at $7,800—a good price for a player who could put up top-tier numbers against Carolina today.

LW: Thomas Vanek $8,800—Vanek is hot and pricey. It sounds dirty, I know. So let’s be dirty and roll with his 21 points so far this season.
RW: Ilya Kovalchuk $6,800
RW: Nail Yakupov $4,200—He’s cheap and sees ample power play time.
C: Cody Hodgson $5,300—It’s hard not to love the Vanek-Hodgson-Jason Pominville line right now.
C: Claude Giroux $7,800
D: Dougie Hamilton $3,600—Keep your eye on this game. It’s already been moved a from 1 PM game to a 7 PM game.
D: Justin Schultz $5,400—He sees 23-plus minutes of ice time per night—and he makes the minutes count with three goals and three assists in 10 games.
G: Antti Niemi $8,300—He’s 6-1-1 with a .927 save percentage.
Other notes: Al Montoya is probable for the Jets today and comes in dirt cheap at $5,200. If you wanted to sub out Niemi and play Montoya you would have some cap space to work with. The first person I’d sub out would be Dougie Hamilton, most likely for Paul Martin.
