Week 10 Fantasy Football Defensive Matchup Exploitation: WR

Last week, a red-hot Vincent Jackson ran into an impossible matchup against the Seattle secondary and walked away with just two catches for 11 yards. More often than not, a good secondary will limit the production of receivers, no matter how good.

This week, Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd face a tough challenge in the Texans who hadn’t allowed a double-digit week to a wide receiver since Week 2 until a big effort from T.Y. Hilton on Sunday. Cecil Shorts, now the top receiver with Justin Blackmon gone for the season, will also see a hard time getting points against a Titans defense that hasn’t given up a double-digit receiver effort since Week 2. The Bills receivers aren’t to be trusted and shouldn’t be started. The Dolphins have been tough as well but they are not without their holes so Vincent Jackson should definitely be started.

The Panthers have been tough so I’d avoid Anquan Boldin and I wouldn’t rush to start either Falcons receiver against the typically deadly Seahawks secondary. The Cardinals aren’t prone to giving up big receiver games but Andre Johnson has a good shot at double-digit points after a big effort against the Colts on Sunday. The 49ers have been stingy and the Panthers receivers have been unreliable so I’d stay away there too. I would definitely stay away from Torrey Smith who faces a very tough Cincy D. Dez Bryant has a tough matchup but he should be started weekly.

The most favorable matchups belong to Antonio Brown, Jordy Nelson, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Keenan Allen, Pierre Garcon, A.J. Green, Victor Cruz, the Denver trio, Calvin Johnson, and T.Y. Hilton. Odds are, you were going to start those guys anyway. I would stay away from the Vikings receivers no matter how favorable the matchup but Golden Tate or Doug Baldwin could end up a solid start against the terrible Falcons defense.

Let’s take a look at all of the fantasy football wide receiver matchups in Week 10.
