5 Things To Know About Jack Del Rio To The Raiders

Jack Del Rio

1. Del Rio got it done in Jacksonville

Before Jacksonville became synonymous with losing, Del Rio was at the helm of a very competitive squad that more often than not was in the AFC playoff hunt. In nine seasons with the Jaguars, Del Rio’s teams made the playoffs twice. During that span, he accumulated a 68-71 record and a .489 win percentage.

Del Rio is the only coach with actual NFL head coaching experience to take over the Raiders. His predecessors — Hue Jackson, Tom Cable, Dennis Allen and Lane Kiffen — were all assistants or college head coaches before taking over the Raiders.

It appears the organization is trying to take a different path with the franchise’s 21st head coach.
