DraftKings NHL GPP Thoughts, Stacks and Cheap Defenseman 1/12

daily fantasy hockey advice

GPP thoughts for 1/12 DraftKings Slate:

Tonight’s slate features eight game with some very interesting match-ups. I am interested in the ownership levels of St. Louis players tonight. While I see Tarasenko being highly owned in all formats and Fabbri high in cash games, I think Fabbri and Lehtera will be overlooked in large GPPs. There are numerous spots where I could see a team scoring 4+ goals tonight which is the perfect slate for GPPs.
Top GPP Stacks for 1/12 DraftKings Slates:

New York IslandersAnton Forsberg has not been terrible since being recalled by Columbus and the Islanders have not exactly been setting the world on fire as of late but with Forsberg getting the road start the Islanders are in a spot good enough to where I want exposure. The Islanders’ stack I am targeting is one of Lee, Tavares, and Bailey. At only $16,300 this stack will allow you to spend up elsewhere.

St. Louis – Any time a backup goalie gets a road start against a team the caliber of St. Louis you have to target them regardless of ownership concerns. That exactly what we are getting tonight with Keith Kinkaid and his .895% road save percentage getting the start. I will target Kinkaid with a stack of Fabbri, Lehtera, Tarasenko and Shattenkirk for a cost of $20,500. While I see Tarasenko being highly owned I do not see Lehtera and Fabbri being as highly owned making this stack playable.

San Jose – Winnipeg gives up way to many penalties and has a bottom five penalty kill. San Jose has a power play clicking at 21.2 % good for 6th in the league. If San Jose can take advantage of the power play in Winnipeg they will be in good shape tonight. I will take the stack of Hertl, Thornton, Pavelski, and Burns for $25,600.
Cheap defenseman to use to fill out your stacks.

Erik Gustafsson ($2,900) Chi – Gets power play minutes & has points in 2 straight.

Connor Murphy ($2,800) Arz – Gets power play time & is paired with Ekman-Larrson.
