Daily Fantasy Hockey: Line Stacks For Nov. 4

daily fantasy hockey, Alex Steen

I was unable to write an article yesterday as life got in the way. I’m back today for this four game slate. Yesterday we saw Tyler Seguin record his first hat trick of the year. Jamie Benn assisted on two of his goals but somehow did not record a shot on goal. Going forward I will list this line in “other options” for the top line stack as they will always be a recommended play regardless of the opponent. What is wrong with the Tampa Bay Lightning? Seven goals in their last six games? I don’t think anyone envisioned that at the start of the season. I will probably be laying off of them most nights until they start finding the not on a more frequent basis. Unfortunately for Oilers fans and hockey fans in general it looks like Connor McDavid has a fractured left clavicle after slamming into the end boards last night. This sucks because his generational talent is so fun to watch when he is on the ice. I wish him a speedy recovery and can’t wait until he is playing again. I had some shares of the Oilers first line last night which includes Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Leon Draisaitl. I absolutely love playing this line but their ownership % in GPPs is increasing rapidly. Draisatl is extremely cheap on DK but his price will skyrocketing soon. He has 3 goals and 4 assists in just 3 games and will continue to get those prime opportunities if this line stays together in the aftermath of the McDavid injury. Let’s look at some lines from today’s games in hope of cashing big on DK tonight.

Top Line Stack- $17,900

Winnipeg Jets: Bryan Little ($5,200) Andrew Ladd ($5,500) Blake Wheeler (7,200). It’s a tough night to pick a goalie for your DFS rosters tonight. Because of that I am hoping there is a decent amount of people on Leafs goalie James Reimer. Reimer is confirmed as the started for tonight and is coming off a very strong performance vs the potent offense of the Dallas stars. This should drive down the ownership % on this line making it a good GPP play although its hard to tell with only a 4 game slate. Blake Wheeler continues to score and has posted 14 points in 12 games this season averaging 4.8 FPPG. Ladd is averaging 3.2 FPPG while Little is at 3.5 FPPG. Vegas has this as the highest implied goal total on the night sitting at 5.5 goals. This Leafs team is not as bad as many think but I just don’t see Reimer playing out of his mind again tonight.

Other options: David Perron, Evgeni Malkin, Phil Kessel.

Mid Line Stack- $18,000

St. Louis Blues: Vladimir Tarasenko ($7,500) Alexander Steen ($6,500) Jori Lehtera ($4,000). The Blues have just 9 goals in their last 6 games but lead the league in CorsiFor% at 56.0%. I am not saying this is a slam dunk line tonight vs the Chicago Blackhawks but they got shut out last night and should come out strong tonight. Tarasenko is always good for a minimum of 4 SOG each night and has 10 points in 11 games. His ability to create space on a rush is just what a goal scorer needs these days and he definitely posses that skill set. His SOG/60 is second in the NHL sitting at 14.39/60 minutes. Steen has been cold of late registering just 1 goal in his last 4 games. Before the cold streak he his riding he had 8 points in 11 games. This line is extremely dangerous at times and I am pretty confident they will be good for two or more points tonight.

Other options: Teuvo Teravainen, Artem Anisimov, Patrick Kane.

Contrarian/Value Line Stack- $13,400

Winnipeg Jets: Mathieu Perreault ($3,900) Mark Scheifele ($4,700). Nikolaj Ehlers ($4,800) Yes, I like the Jets first and second line tonight. Everything pertains to the second line just like the first. I would expect this to have lower ownership than the first line though. I think Ehlers is the highest owned player out of this stack but that shouldn’t deter you on such a small slate. This line affords you the luxury of spending up for a player or even two and they don’t have to produce much to reach value.

Other options: James Van Riemsdyk, Nazem Kadri, Leo Komarov (expecting Fleury to be the highest owned goalie on the night).

Good luck tonight and hopefully some of this info helps you guys out. Feel free to leave comments below or hit me up on twitter @afish84.
