Daily Fantasy Basketball: Cheap Advice 11/4/15

Point Guard

Jerryd Bayless ($3800, 17.11 USG)Michael Carter-Williams is listed as OUT for tonights game against PHI.  With OJ Mayo already ruled out, Bayless is in store for a huge uptick in minutes.  He played a ridiculous 47 min on Monday night and caught fire (6-10 3PM), scoring 26 points.  This is as a no brainer as it gets.  Put him in the PG slot and build your lineup around him. I will have 100% exposure to him in all formats tonight.

Honorable Mentions: Marcus Smart (if Bradley sits), Greivis Vasquez

Shooting Guard

Marcus Thornton ($3500, 20.29 USG) – As long as Terrence Jones is out, I’d expect the Rockets to continue with their small guard lineup of Lawson/Thornton/Harden.  He’s averaged 33.5 minutes in his 2 starts and second only behind James Harden in shot attempts.  If those minutes stick, you’re looking at a player with huge upside.  I’d predict he reaches around 8X value tonight (28 DK points) but keep an eye on injury reports throughout the day.  If in an unlikely scenario pops up where Jones is back in the starting lineup moving Thornton back to the bench, I’d likely stay away.

Honorable Mentions: Kent Bazemore, Nik Stauskas, Marco Belinelli (if starting)

Small Forward

Evan Fournier ($4400, 21.11 USG) – The breakout campaign continues.  Fournier has maybe been the best value play of the season so far on Draft Kings averaging 31.4 DK points per game.  His price still hasn’t caught up with his production.  Ready for the best part?  DraftKings moved him over to the Small Forward position, usually a thinned out selection of quality options. Vegas sees Houston as an 8 point favorite, something I don’t necessarily agree with.  I think this has the makings of a really high scoring, competitive game.

Honorable Mentions: Otto Porter, Rodney Hood, Jae Crowder

Power Forward

Trevor Booker ($3000, 10.91 USG) – Derrick Favors missed shootaround this morning with flu-like symptoms, leaving him to truly be a game-time decision.  If Favors misses this game, Booker almost becomes a must play at the bare minimum in pricing.  In games when Favors sat last year, Booker had a 14.0 TRB% (Total Rebounding Percentage) only second to Rudy Gobert.  Booker and Gobert should dominate this matchup against a soft POR front court.  This, out of all stories tonight is the most important to monitor.  I would recommend having 2 lineups ready in any event that Favors sits or plays so you could submit without hesitation as soon as news breaks.

Honorable Mentions: Kristaps Porzingis, Jordan Hill (if Mahinmi sits), Kyle O’Quinn

Center

Willie Cauley-Stein ($4600, 13.45 USG) – With Cousins sitting out his second consecutive game, the rookie from Kentucky continues to benefit most.  In maybe the worst possible matchup for WCS, he put up a respectable 22.8 DK points against the Grizzlies in 34 min.  Tonight’s game against PHO has an over under of 209 (3rd highest tonight).  Willie is all about the peripherals. Through 4 games, he’s averaging 13.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.9 blocks per 36 minutes.  He played 34 minutes last night.  In a high paced matchup against the Suns, I could see him hitting about 7X value (32.2 DK points)

Honorable Mentions: Festus Ezeli (if Bogut sits), Myers Leonard, Kosta Koufos
