4 and 5. Andy Dalton to the Redskins, Robert Griffin III to the Bengals
In what could be a Nick Foles–Sam Bradford like swap, could Washington and Cincinnati swap quarterbacks to try and get something going?
Dalton has been a solid regular-season starter for the Bengals, but has never panned out when the playoffs roll around him. One coach that could still think he could get Dalton over the hump is his former offensive coordinator, Jay Gruden, who is entering his second year at the helm of Washington.
In the nation’s capital, RGIII remains the likeliest quarterback to start in 2015, largely due to the lack of competition around him. What we do know is there is already a tumultuous relationship between the coach and quarterback that makes this seem like a match made to fail.
For Griffin, being in Cincy offers a fresh slate with new coaches and players around him. Perhaps Marvin Lewis would be more willing to give Griffin the freedom he so desires that could help get the quarterback back on track for the first time since his rookie season in 2012.
