5 Bizarre NFL Quarterback Trades That Could Happen

Drew Brees

3. Jay Cutler to the Bills

The Bears have already stated their belief in Cutler as the team’s quarterback, but likely without any other options at their disposal. Cutler’s contract makes him nearly untradeable unless another team wants to take on his bloated salary cap number. Releasing him is just as financially detrimental for the Bears.

Though the odds suggest Cutler will remain in the Windy City for the foreseeable future, one potential team that just makes a little too much sense at the moment is the Bills. Rex Ryan’s club added the likes of LeSean McCoy, Charles Clay and Percy Harvin to try and beef up the offense, but who’s running the show? The team dealt for Matt Cassel, signed Tyrod Taylor and still has E.J. Manuel pondering his situation on the bench.

In the right situation, wouldn’t Cutler make the Bills that much more formidable than those guys?

Sure, Buffalo would have to take on Cutler’s salary, but the organization has given the impression it’s willing to open up its wallets to compete this year. Right now, though, the quarterback situation will seemingly hold the team back.
