5 Bizarre NFL Quarterback Trades That Could Happen

Drew Brees

2. Philip Rivers to the Titans

There’s suddenly a very muddy picture of Rivers’ future in San Diego going forward. According to reports, the Bolts’ quarterback doesn’t want to sign a new contract before his current deal ends after the 2015 season. In fact, Rivers doesn’t see himself as a member of a potential Los Angeles football team, which naturally led to speculation.

And it doesn’t help that the Chargers reportedly have a lot of interest in Mariota either.

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt was Rivers’ offensive coordinator in San Diego before taking his new head coaching gig, and as a head coach he’s had his best success with proven NFL quarterbacks.

Should Tennessee and San Diego choose to make a deal, Rivers could head to quiet Nashville while the Chargers could take the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft to use on Mariota.
