Power. The book on Cuban outfielder Yasmany Tomas is that he can crush a baseball. With that, the Arizona Diamondbacks signed Tomas to a six-year contract. There now remains only one question: where does the team play him?
Tomas manned both third base and outfield in Cuba, and the Diamondbacks – technically filled at both positions – are currently testing the waters of either option. No one has sugar-coated the results so far, as Tomas is hardly expected to do much with his glove. Wherever he ends up in the field, his place in the batting order is already guaranteed.
