LeSean McCoy

3. The other end of the bargain

Hey, let’s not forget that Alonso is a really good linebacker!

Before getting sidelined all of last season, Alonso was on the verge of becoming an elite NFL defender. In 2013, Alonso recorded 159 tackles, the third-most by a rookie in the past decade, according to ESPN Stats & Info. In contrast, no Eagles defender had more than 82 tackles last season.

Of course, Alonso was coveted by Kelly, who also recruited the linebacker while the two were at Oregon together. Alonso is the ninth former Duck on the Eagles’ roster, all of whom played for Kelly in Eugene.
