1. Jameis Winston, Florida State
Largely expected to be the No. 1 overall pick to the Buccaneers, Winston impressed during the NFL scouting combine and appears to have the highest ceiling of any quarterback prospect in this year’s draft.
A former Heisman Trophy winner and national champion with the Seminoles, Winston’s improved passing mechanics were the talk of the combine. He played in a pro-style offense, which bodes well for those skeptical of players transitioning from the college to professional ranks.
Away from the football field, there are still concerns about Winston’s maturity level. Through his two-year stint as Florida State’s starter, there were countless run-ins with the law and a lot still needs to be determined.
