The only team that played last night that is also playing tonight is Montreal. They will be starting a fresh Carey Price, but are a little hobbled on the back end: Sergei Gonchar was put on the injured reserve, Alexei Emelin will be out more than a month, and P.K. Subban has played 30-plus minutes in two of his last three games, including last night. Though it’s not a bad matchup, I might skip out on using Carey Price in net tonight.
The big favorites are of course the Flyers, who are hosting the Buffalo Sabres. With Ray Emery’s price, he doesn’t need a whole lot past a win to get to value. Another big favorite tonight is Pittsburgh, so for those that can’t trust Ray Emery (and I don’t blame you), paying up for Fleury would be the next option for me.

Players will be in order of perceived value, by position, and there should be enough to mix-and-match for each type of game available on Draft Kings. Some positions might only have a few plays, some might have several. It all depends on the day, the matchups, and the price.
Remember: players are in order of value, not necessarily in cost. Just because Sidney Crosby is $8000 one day doesn’t mean he’s a better value than Andrew Shaw at $4000.

- It’ll be hard not to use at least a couple Flyers in cash game lineups tonight. Regardless of their last time out, this is a great matchup.
- I really like the prospects of Crosby getting to value tonight, but with other expensive centers in good matchups like Giroux and Couture, it’s by no means necessary to pay up for him. David Perron, though, is a different story.
- Tommy Wingels was moved to the second line alongside Couture and Joe Pavelski.
- Washington’s matchup isn’t great, but the Jets are starting Ondrej Pavelec, so that improves their upside quite a bit.

- Most stacks tonight are fairly expensive, so owners will have to get creative with their mixing and matching.
- There are enough good values on the wing that paying through the nose at center looks to be the play here tonight.
- With Ondrej Pavelec starting for Winnipeg, I don’t have a problem trotting out a mini-stack of, say, Nicklas Backstrom and Marcus Johansson from Washington. It gets exposure to both top line for Washington, and heavy exposure to the top power play unit, without paying up for Ovechkin.
Slim’s Pickins (bargain plays)
James Sheppard (SJS-C, $2500) – Good in-game matchups are expected and he centers a very good third line with Matt Nieto and Tyler Kennedy.
Corey Tropp (CBJ-W, $2500) – Still playing on the top line with Ryan Johansen.
Paul Martin (PIT-D, $2900) – With no Ehrhoff or Maatta, Martin continues to be the number-2 defensive options.
Good luck!
