Dallas Mavericks – The Mavericks are fifth at 36-19 and have had 21 games with point guard Rajon Rondo. With him, they are 13-8 and during his absence due to an orbital injury the record is 4-3. Now it appears they’ll have another addition by signing Amar’e Stoudemire to fill some frontcourt needs. Of course watching Dirk Nowitzki complete his 17th season is always worth watching, especially as he approaches sixth place on the all-time scoring list. Nowitzki is at 27,718 points and 878 points behind O’Neal. Unless he averages 32.5 points per game he won’t hit that mark this year but watching him inch closer is compelling.
