Victiv Daily Fantasy Basketball: Values and Lineup – January 3

Elfrid Payton

XN Sports is introducing a new daily fantasy site called Victiv, which has one of the best features in all of daily fantasy, in addition to a sleek design, and a few ways to play daily fantasy basketball.

Victiv has what is called a substitution position, which you can learn more about on the site. Essentially, it’s one extra position for under $5,000 (does not affect your salary cap) where you can select a bench player. This player will come in handy, as it replaces anyone in your lineup that scores less than the substitute. Think of it as a free mulligan, and an option to take a risk on a player.

For example, if you like a specific player one night but he is a game-time decision, put him into your lineups. The substitute can be his backup, or another player that you think could have an excellent night, and if your player does not play, no worries. In addition, this adds another level of strategy. On Victiv, the minimum price for a player is a lot lower than on other sites. You can afford to take risks with these cheap players, because if this player does not have an excellent game, your substitute can pick up the slack. Be sure to take advantage of this, and try Victiv today.

After you have signed up, be sure to take on Victron. This is Victiv’s computer, and if you beat it, you can win cash prizes. This is yet another way to play daily fantasy basketball.

On Victiv, you are given $50,000 in cap space to play a lineup composed of two guards, three forwards, a center, and two flex positions. As aforementioned, the substitute does not count against your cap. The scoring is as follows (taken directly from Victiv’s website):

– Point +1

– Rebound +1.25

– Assist +1.25

– Steal +2

– Block +2

– Turnover -0.5

How can we beat Victron, other players and win real money? First, sign up for Victiv here.

Second, take a look at XN Sports’ suggested plays and lineup for Victiv for tonight’s slate:

Tonight’s slate is full with game-time decisions, so stay aware before tip-off.

Value Plays

Guard

No value plays at guard tonight, as Victiv has some of the sharpest pricing in the industry. Be prepared to spend at guard.

Forward

Joe Ingles, Utah Jazz $2,000

The Jazz guards have been devastated by injuries of late, with Alec Burks and P.J. Christopher both being injured in the last few days. That leaves the remaining minutes to Dante Exum and Ingles, who is the bare minimum on Victiv. Ingles is worth a look as he scored 15 fantasy points in 21 minutes in the Jazz’s last game. Ingles will be one of the first players off the bench for Utah, and he could see over 25 minutes against the Timberwolves, who have given up 28 points per game to opposing shooting guards this season. At the bare minimum, anything over 10 fantasy points is excellent value, so get Ingles into your lineups for severe cap relief. It’s rare to see a guard eligible at forward, but for the minimum price it adds additional lineup flexibility. Take that into account when making your lineups for tonight on Victiv.

Center

Hassan Whiteside, Miami Heat $2,000

Whiteside is another punt option at just $2,000 on Victiv. In the last two games for the Heat, Whiteside has totaled 47 fantasy points and scored over 20 in both contests. With his price at just $2,000 on Victiv, Whiteside is one of the premier values for today’s slate. He has a tough matchup against the Rockets, however Houston just played last night. Whiteside has yet to double-double, but his minutes have increased in every game, and he has crushed value for his price in the last two nights.

Lineup

GTrey Burke $6,300

GElfrid Payton $5,600

FJoe Ingles $2,000

FTrevor Booker $3,100

FPau Gasol $8,800

CHassan Whiteside $2,000

FLEXJames Harden $12,200

FLEXJimmy Butler $9,700

*Keep an eye on injuries for the slate tonight, a lot can happen in a short amount of time.
