RHP David Robertson – Several notable relief pitchers are available to teams but the man who seamlessly followed Mariano Rivera closing games for the Yankees is the most noteworthy name. And because of that and because Robertson’s past successes as a setup man, the Yankees face an interesting question. They will get a draft pick because he turned down the one-year, $15 million qualifying offer but is the unknown quantity in a draft worth losing someone who posted 13.4 strikeouts per nine innings last season. The Yankees do have a fallback in Dellin Betances but that is not a sure thing. Jonathan Papelbon was signed to a four-year, $50 million contract by the Phillies and Robertson likely desires to get a similar deal and whatever the price is, the Yankees should re-sign him.
