MLB: Top Remaining Free Agent Pitchers

Max Scherzer

LHP Andrew Miller – In a past life, Miller was a standout pitching prospect for the Detroit Tigers and part of the package used to obtain Miguel Cabrera. Now he is a dominant relief pitcher, whose fastball ranges between 94 and 97 and is offset by one of the game’s most effective sliders. His 2.02 ERA was second among free agent relievers and his 2.5 walks per nine were the best of his career. Recently, four-year deals for non-closers have not been common but based on Miller’s performance last season, that could change especially with teams like the Yankees, Red Sox and Tigers showing interest.

Other free agent pitchers: Brandon McCarthy, Jake Peavy, Ervin Santana, Gavin Floyd, Sergio Romo, Rafael Soriano
