Daily Fantasy Hockey: DFS DraftKings Values – November 25

St. Louis Blues center Jori Lehtera

The only team coming off a game from last night is the Ottawa Senators, and they have the good fortune to head in to St. Louis to face the Central Division-leading Blues. By good fortune, I mean the complete opposite of that. They are also the overwhelming favorite of the day, per Covers Experts, at -220.

There may only be seven games today, a somewhat light night for a Tuesday, but there are a lot of bad penalty kills – Dallas, St. Louis, Columbus, Nashville, New Jersey and Calgary all play tonight, and all are in the bottom-third of the league in penalty kill percentage. While the percentages don’t give a perfect reflection of the penalty kill abilities of a team, it is a good place to start when assessing which teams to target against.

As always, check Left Wing Lock for goalie confirmations.

Players will be in order of perceived value, by position, and there should be enough to mix-and-match for each type of game available on Draft Kings. Some positions might only have a few plays, some might have several. It all depends on the day, the matchups, and the price.

Remember: players are in order of value, not necessarily in cost. Just because Sidney Crosby is $8000 one day doesn’t mean he’s a better value than Andrew Shaw at $4000.

Cash Games

Center Wing Defense Goalie
Lehtera (STL) – $5000 Boedker (ARI) – $4500 Shattenkirk (STL) – $5100 Elliott (STL) – $8000
Getzlaf (ANA) – $6700 Vrbata (VAN) – $6800 Enstrom (WPG) – $3400 Miller (VAN) – $7300
Sedin (VAN) – $4500 Roussel (DAL) – $3700 Fowler (ANA) – $3800 Andersen (ANA) – $7400
Perreault (WPG) – $3700 Schwartz (STL) – $6500 Klingberg (DAL) – $4100
Duchene (COL) – $5700 Neal (NSH) – $5800
Kesler (ANA) – $5800 Hall (EDM) – $6100
Vermette (ARI) – $4300 Byfuglien (WPG) – $4800
Seguin (DAL) – $8600 Perry (ANA) – $8200

  • Lehtera and Getzlaf have both seen their prices drop of late. Lehtera specifically is ludicrous tonight.
  • Arizona has a good matchup tonight that gets even better if Semyon Varlamov isn’t ready to go for Colorado.
  • There are not many wingers that I’m overly-enthused about tonight. Of course the St. Louis wingers are targets, but after that, it’s kind of wide open (much thanks to Jamie Benn’s near-$2K price jump).
  • There are a few obvious plays in net tonight. It’s a night to go with obvious plays and forget worrying about shots faced.

Guaranteed Prize Pools/Tournaments

Center Wing Defense Goalie
Lehtera (STL) – $5000 Schwartz (STL) – $6500 Fowler (ANA) – $3800 Smith (ARI) – $6300
Seguin (DAL) – $8600 Tarasenko (STL) – $7000 Enstrom (WPG) – $3400 Pavelec (WPG) – $6400
Eakin (DAL) – $4600 Benn (DAL) – $8300 Jones (NSH) – $3100
Perreault (WPG) – $3700 Roussel (DAL) – $3700 Cole (STL) – $2500
Vermette (ARI) – $4300 Byfuglien (WPG) – $4800
Ryan Getzlaf (ANA) – $6700 Doan (ARI) – $4700
Kesler (ANA) – $5800 Boedker (ARI) – $4500
Jarnkrok (NSH) – $3300 Maroon (ANA) – $3700
Wilson (NSH) – $3900

  • Louis and Dallas are the obvious plays and don’t require much thought.
  • I like Winnipeg’s matchup a lot tonight, particularly on the power play. With Dustin Byfuglien playing the point on the power play, too, it’s a bit of an added bonus for him.
  • Arizona should be able to do well against the Avalanche tonight, particularly if there’s no Varlamov in net. They’re a good, cheap secondary stack.
  • Another off-the-board play would be Nashville’s second line. I would assume the Ribeiro line gets the Kopitar line at even strength, which means the depth plays are the way to go for Nashville.

Slim’s Pickins (bargain plays)

Joakim Lindstrom (STL-C, $2700) – Lindstrom has been playing with David Backes and Paul Stastny of late and the Blues have a great matchup.

Matt Calvert (CBJ-W, $2700) – Calvert has been moved on a line with Ryan Johansen.

Paul Postma (WPG-D, $2500) – No special reason for Postma today other than I’ve been very impressed with his play in his last few games.

Good luck!
