Quarterback
Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints $9,800
It’s not often that an expensive quarterback is listed as a value, but this week Brees is just that. Seven quarterbacks have a higher price than Brees this week, and the Saints are at home, where Brees has thrown for 11 touchdowns this year, and has statistically been one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history when he plays in New Orleans. When it comes to value, you have to ask yourself if Drew Brees is going to finish higher than QB8 for this week, if so he is worth the price on Victiv. The Saints face the Ravens, who have allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.
Running Back
Terrence West, Cleveland Browns $2,200
West is just $200 over the minimum on Victiv this weekend, and despite the fact that Isaiah Crowell is the lead back in Cleveland, West should still see his fair share of carries this week. The Browns cut Ben Tate this week, meaning that Tate and Crowell are the go-to guys in the backfield. With the Browns traveling to face the Falcons’ last-ranked defense against the run, Tate could still reach value as a low-priced option. The best part about Tates’ price is that even if he only totals six fantasy points, he still reaches value. Take a flier on him in a FLEX or RB spot, because there is little to no risk in a $2,200 player in daily fantasy, especially one that you know will touch the ball a few times a game, at minimum.
Wide Receiver
Sammy Watkins, Buffalo Bills $5,600
A few days ago, Watkins was going to be an easy fade this weekend, with horrid weather in Buffalo. But, the Bills will face the Jets on Monday night inside a dome. This gives Watkins an edge over the Jets secondary who ranks in the bottom five in passing yards allowed. At his price, 15 fantasy points or more will reach value, and Watkins totaled over 25 fantasy points in the last game against the Jets, including a long touchdown reception.
Tight End
Niles Paul, Washington Redskins $2,000
With the news of Jordan Reed being out this weekend, Niles Paul becomes the starting tight end for the Redskins. At the minimum price, Paul becomes an instant value, simply because he is the starter at a scarce position. This season in games where Reed did not play, Paul averages 4.5 catches for 58.25 yards and 0.25 touchdowns, per RotoViz’ game splits app. That production would give Paul a projection of around eight fantasy points, which would be excellent value at the minimum price on Victiv. The Redskins will face the San Francisco 49ers this weekend, who have allowed opposing tights to score five touchdowns in their last six games.
