Everson Griffen, DE, Minnesota Vikings
The man who replaced Jared Allen as the Vikings’ marquee pass-rusher is proving that the Vikings made exactly the right choice in free agency.
Under the tutelage of first-year head coach Mike Zimmer, Griffen has emerged as one of the best young pass-rushers in the NFL. Through nine games as a starter, Griffen has totaled a career-high 9.0 sacks and a forced fumble. This comes after starting one game in the previous four seasons in Minnesota.
Griffen is the superstar on a budding Vikings defensive front that features Linval Joseph and Sharrif Floyd in the middle and Brian Robison bookending the line. With Griffen and rookie Anthony Barr, this Vikings defense looks to be formidable for quite some time.
