5. Raiders remain winless, but not without a fight

Though unsuccessful, the Tony Sparano-led Raiders put up their best effort of the season against the surging Chargers, falling just shy of notching their first win of the season in a 31-28 loss.

Derek Carr gave the fans in Oakland a glimpse as to why they should be excited about the future of the team, throwing for 282 yards and four touchdowns, including an 86-yard touchdown to Andre Holmes, the longest touchdown by the Raiders since October of 2009.

Despite the loss, the Raiders put forth their best effort of the season under their interim head coach. That kind of competitiveness against one of the league’s top team gives us assurance they aren’t far from getting in the win column.
