1. RGIII, DeSean Jackson down and out
Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III dislocated his ankle in the first quarter Sunday against the Jaguars, and today will undergo an MRI to determine how long he’ll be on the sidelines. Soon after, top free-agent wideout DeSean Jackson went down with a sprained AC joint, though his return appears to be sooner rather than later.
Why this matters — Griffin III has seemingly put himself in a make or break type of year, coming off a disappointing 2013 campaign and now being outplayed by his backup, Kirk Cousins. If Cousins continues to succeed in Griffin’s absence, is there a quarterback controversy in the nation’s capital?
