Buehrle has owned the most consecutive retired batters streak dating back to 2009 when he sat down 45 in a row. Before that, however, the record belonged to Giants pitcher Jim Barr.

Barr retired 41 batters in a row back in 1972, which stood until 2007 when Buerhle’s former teammate, closer Bobby Jenks, tied it.
