26. Philadelphia Phillies (53-65) (LW 28) – Ryan Howard‘s contract may be a long-term headache, but he’s been plenty helpful in the short-term. He had three game-winning hits in six days.
27. Chicago Cubs (50-66) (LW 26) – Anthony Rizzo has been pleasantly consistent for Chicago, having hit safely in 21 of his last 24 games. His most recent was walk-off single on Sunday to give his Cubs a 12-inning win over the Rays.
28. Houston Astros (49-69) (LW 27) – Just a couple of weeks ago, DH Chris Carter was on the trading block. Since the deadline passed, he is hitting .351/.385/.730 with four home runs, 11 RBIs, and 10 runs.
29. Texas Rangers (46-71) (LW 30) – If nothing else, the Rangers are on a bit of a power surge. Their 12 home runs in August trail only Baltimore’s 18 in the month.
30. Colorado Rockies (46-71) (LW 29) – It was another losing week for the Rockies, losing four of six. Colorado has won just one of seven series since the All-Star Break.
