21. San Diego Padres (54-62) (LW 22) – The Padres have found the secret to winning. Since August began, they are 7-2, and have posted a MLB-best 1.80 ERA and an NL-best .284 batting average.

22. Chicago White Sox (56-63) (LW 20) – Chicago pitching has not been good as of late. This month, the White Sox have had five games in which they have given up eight or more runs, including two of 16 and another of 13.

23. Boston Red Sox (52-65) (LW 24) – The bats haven’t come alive like the Red Sox had hoped, as they are hitting a MLB-worst .198 in August. However, they are still winning some games, including taking two on the road against the Angels.

24. Minnesota Twins (52-64) (LW 23) – The Twins are the highest scoring team in baseball in August with 54 runs through nine games. But they are just 4-5 because they’ve given up 44 in that same stretch, the sixth-most in MLB.

25. Arizona Diamondbacks (51-67) (LW 25) – David Peralta has put together a nice rookie season, hitting .313 with 22 extra-base hits in 57 games, but his biggest came on Saturday, when he capped off a nine-run eighth inning against the Rockies with his first career grand slam.
