Allen was reportedly on the verge of getting fired in Oakland last year, but after meeting with the team brass he was brought back for a third season.
Under Allen, the Raiders have had back-to-back 4-12 seasons. General manager Reggie McKenzie went out and signed a load of veteran free agents, including Matt Schaub, Justin Tuck, Lamarr Woodley, and Charles Woodson, putting pressure on the team to be much more competitive this season.
