MLB Power Rankings Week 17

Mike Trout, Angels

26. Philadelphia Phillies (43-55) (LW 26) – The good news for the Phillies is that Cliff Lee is making his return to the mound on Monday night after missing more than two months. It won’t be enough to get them back into contention, but they should be able to use him in a trade to get some pieces for the future.

27. Colorado Rockies (40-58) (LW 24) –Through the first half of the season, Corey Dickerson hit .325/.391/.579. He started his second half even better, going 2-for-4 in his first two games, then drawing a walk in his only plate appearance on Sunday.

28. Houston Astros (41-58) (LW 30) –The Astros may not be the worst team in the league at the moment, but that doesn’t lessen the sting of their last week. Houston failed to sign first overall draft pick Brady Aiken along with fifth round pick Jacob Nix.

29. Chicago Cubs (40-57) (LW 28) –It’s no coincidence the Cubs have started their second half 0-3. The team ranks in the bottom 10 of MLB in both hitting and pitching since the All-Star Break.

30. Texas Rangers (39-59) (LW 29) – How the mighty have fallen. After four straight 90-win seasons, the Rangers are plummeting, and are now the worst team in baseball.
