Pittsburgh Pirates (Cumpton) at Los Angeles Dodgers (Ryu)
Cumpton has actually pitched well this year but is still under six strikeouts per nine innings and he doesn’t get a very good match-up today. I’ll pass. Also, I’m not keying in on the Pirates hitters going against Ryu tonight.
I will have Ryu in quite a few lineups. He missed time with injury but has 16 strikeouts to just one walk in his first two games back. He also has a decent price for today, all considered. Other than the usual suspects for Los Angeles hitters, though, I’m not looking anywhere else in the lineup. That means I probably won’t have any hitters out of this game.
Hyun-Jin Ryu (SP) – $18,534
Los Angeles Angels (Skaggs) at Oakland Athletics (Milone)
Skaggs is a complete pass for me. Also, Trout can be used but I’d rather look at cheaper options. Guys like Chris Iannetta and Grant Green are cheap and have murdered lefties this year. I’d also rather have Cron in lineups rather than Pujols at this point (price considered).
C.J. Cron (1B) – $5050
Chris Iannetta (C) – $4867
Grant Green (2B) – $5125
As I said, Skaggs is a pass but it’s because Oakland has a lineup that can hammer lefty pitching. I’m passing on Milone, too, as I’m just looking for runs scored in this one. I like Derek Norris if he gets the start but I’d still rather have Iannetta in lineups. Other than him, I’m looking at the big bats for Oakland.
Josh Donaldson (3B) – $7818
Brandon Moss (1B) – $5837
