Oakland Athletics (Pomeranz) at Tampa Bay Rays (Odorizzi)
Drew Pomeranz has pitched well so far this year but in either of his first two starts, he has yet to pass five innings. He’s still getting stretched out so without the chance to go deep in games, his upside in DFS is limited. At his price of over $16K, I’ll pass today. With the way the A’s are hitting, like the Tigers, most of the hitters are starting to get pricey. There are a couple of good values still, though.
Derek Norris (C) – $5570
Jake Odorizzi hasn’t allowed a run in either of his last two starts but those were starts against Cleveland and Seattle, not exactly Oakland. His price is getting a bit high, though, so like Pomeranz, I don’t know if there’s enough upside to justify the cost. I’ll be going light on Tampa hitters, too.
Yunel Escobar (SS) – $5391
