Chicago Blackhawks at St. Louis Blues
There were concerns about injuries ailing the ‘Hawks’ superstars in Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. The degree to which they are healthy is uncertain but they will both be back in the lineup for Chicago in Game 1.
On St. Louis’ side, they had their own problems with injury and again, we’re not sure the degree to which the players are injured. That said, it’s expected that David Backes is good to go for this game, as is Vladimir Tarasenko (though he’s not confirmed). One note is that today at practice, T.J. Oshie wasn’t practicing on a line, so it appears he may not play this one.
Whichever team is truly healthy will have the upper hand in each game of this series. St. Louis really floundered down the stretch – though there is an argument that a lot of it was bad luck – and lost their final two games against the Blackhawks. I’m very nervous to rely on this team in DFS given their injury situation so I will probably just avoid them.
This is a game where I will probably wait to see who’s in the lineup and who’s not before I pick any players. I might just lay off this game altogether for tonight until I get a better read for Game 2.
