San Diego Padres (Erlin) at Cleveland Indians (Kluber)
Note that there is a good chance of rain/thunderstorms in this one for game time.
San Diego has struggled mightily out of the gate for scoring runs, having just 12 so far in their first six games and no more than four in any of them. In other words, the damage that they can inflict is probably minimal, so other than Seth Smith, I’m staying away from this team completely (yes, even at those prices).
Seth Smith (OF) – $5229
Cleveland hasn’t faced Robbie Erlin (many teams haven’t) because it’s just his 10th career start. In the past, he’s shown the ability to be a high-strikeout arm but the Indians currently sit at 34 strikeouts as a team on the season, fourth-lowest in the Majors. If Erlin isn’t striking people out, he’s been prone to the long-ball at times and that means good DFS value. It’s time to go back to the well on Kluber too, I suppose.
Jason Kipnis (2B) – $6491
Corey Kluber (SP) – $17,596
