St. Louis Cardinals (Lynn) vs Cincinnati Reds (Bailey)
Despite last night’s 1-0 final between these two teams, I would still avoid the pitchers in today’s game. I definitely won’t use Lynn and I probably won’t ever use him this year away from home: Lynn’s career ERA is over a run and a half higher on the road than at home. There are quite a few Cardinals who have had a lot of success against Homer Bailey in the past, though.
Matt Carpenter (3B) – $6086
Matt Holliday (OF) – $6707
Homer Bailey has a career ERA over 5.50 against the Cardinals and I don’t see that improving today. Somehow, Zack Cozart is 6-for-17 with two home runs in his career against Bailey and with his very low price, he could be one of the best values of the day. It goes without saying, I will not be taking Bailey in this game, regardless of how “good” his price is.
